I think I have a hard time accepting the praise of others as genuine sometimes, so perhaps I equally question praise from myself.

Re: First Week, First Day

Hi. I'm taking part in the collective as well and looking forward to sharing experiences.

My handwriting is never very legible, but yes, it does get worse as I get more excited about what I'm writing. When I can't think of anything to say I slow down and the letters get "artsier."

Re: First Week, First Day

I'm hearing you - been getting up an hour earlier than normal and finding
that writing with closed eyes is easier than it sounds - LOL.

Re: First Week, First Day

I think I will. Today I actually got up at 6 and stumbled down to the computer, and it actually hurt my eyes, it was so bright. I had to type with my eyes closed for the first page or two. Pen and paper seems like it might be a little more natural and less industrial. But I'm just so lazy, and typing's so easy....

Re: First Week, First Day

Thanks for the complement on my site! I find doing the pages by hand is very strange. I spend a lot of time on the computer and sometimes it feels like my fingers type without my brain engaged! LOL. Why don't you try a couple days of freehand morning pages just to experiment with the difference?

Re: First Week, First Day

I actually do my morning pages on the computer because my writing is just too messy and I type so much faster (do you think that's "allowed"?), but I do find that about 1.5 pages into it I get stuck, and really have to force myself to finish. Often something interesting comes out at that point (I guess something I was resisting or whatever). I also found the affirmations a bit hokey (just started today) but when I started with the negative stuff first (the "blurts), I was really surprised by how some of the affirmations fit so perfectly and actually made sense to me.
BTW great website. I've also had rage dreams, but that's another topic....
